    D-biotin CAS 58-85-5 is a colorless to nearly colorless crystalline powder. Its melting point ranges from 232℃ to 233℃. Solubility at 25℃ (mg/100ml): 22 in water; 80 in 95% ethanol. It is readily soluble in hot water and dilute alkaline solutions, and insoluble in other common organic solvents. Biotin decomposes upon contact with strong alkalis or oxidizing agents.
