    Main Applications

    p-Aminobenzoic acid is one component of folic acid, a substance essential for the growth and division of human body cells. It can be used as a chemical reagent and raw material for organic synthesis, as well as an intermediate for azo dyes. It is applied to manufacture dyes including Reactive Red M-80, M-10B and Reactive Red Violet X-2R, together with cyanobenzoic acid and the pharmaceutical agent p-carboxybenzylamine. It also functions as a sunscreen; its derivative octyl dimethylaminobenzoate is an excellent UV filter.
