On October 29, Tongkun Co., Ltd. announced that Zhejiang Hengyong New Material Co., Ltd. ( a wholly owned subsidiary of its subsidiary Zhejiang Hengsheng Chemical Fibre Co., Ltd. ( plans to invest RMB 5.6 billion in cash or self-raised funds to build a 1.2 million t/a green differentiated fiber project.
The project will be completed in two phases.
Phase I consists of two polyester filament lines with a combined capacity of 600 kt/a, along with a texturing (DTY) workshop. These were established by relocating and upgrading selected equipment previously decommissioned by Hengsheng.
Phase II involves the addition of two more polyester filament lines, each with a capacity of 600 kt/a. The timing of this expansion will be aligned with market conditions and industry supply–demand dynamics.
