1,4-BDDMA Usage

SAMREAL® 1,4-Butanediol Dimethacrylate (1,4-BDDMA) (CAS No: 2082-81-7)features excellent chemical stability, weather resistance, heat resistance, water resistance, high wear resistance, and high hardness, etc. It is widely used in the following fields:

1. Coatings Field

* UV-Cured Coatings: It is an important raw material for UV-cured coatings, which can enable the coatings to cure rapidly, enhance production efficiency, and reduce energy consumption. Moreover, the cured coating has excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, and is suitable for coating furniture, floors, automotive parts, etc.

* Acrylic Ester Coatings: It has good heat resistance, weather resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and oil resistance. It can be mixed with aluminum powder, copper powder, etc. as a neutral coating and used in automotive decoration, home appliances, machinery, instruments, construction, leather and other fields.

2. The Field of Photosensitive Resins

It is a key component of photosensitive resin, which can endow the resin with good fluidity and curing performance. In 3D printing, it enables the printed objects to have high precision and good mechanical properties; in dental restoration, it can be used to make temporary dental crowns and bridges, etc., ensuring that the restorations fit closely with the teeth and have good biocompatibility.

3. Crosslinking Agent Field

* Rubber Crosslinking: As a crosslinking agent for rubber, it can enhance the mechanical properties, heat resistance, and oil resistance of rubber, and is suitable for manufacturing high-performance rubber products such as tires, seals, and hoses.

* Optical Plastic Crosslinking: It is used for crosslinking modification of optical plastics, which can improve the transparency, hardness, and weather resistance of optical plastics, and is applicable for manufacturing of optical components such as lenses, optical fibers, and display screens.

4. Adhesive Field

* Two-component adhesives: They are an important component of two-component adhesives, which can enhance the bonding strength and durability of the adhesives, and also shorten the curing time. They are suitable for bonding various materials such as metals, plastics, glasses, and ceramics, and are widely used in assembly and repair in fields such as automobiles, construction, electronics, and electrical appliances.

* Optical Adhesives: In the optical field, they are used for bonding and encapsulating optical components, ensuring transparency and light transmittance between optical components, while providing good mechanical protection and stability.

5. Hydrogel Superabsorbent Polymer Field

It can be used to prepare hydrogel superabsorbent polymers. These materials have excellent water absorption and water retention properties and are widely used in medical and healthcare, agriculture, horticulture, cosmetics and other fields, such as making baby diapers, sanitary napkins, wound dressings, soil moisture retainers, cosmetic masks, etc.

6. Dental Materials Field

It can be used to prepare dental composite materials, dental adhesives, etc. It has good biocompatibility, has a relatively small impact on dental pulp cells, can combine well with dental tissues, and provide sufficient strength and wear resistance, and is used for dental treatments such as tooth restoration and filling.

7. Wire and Cable Coating Field
